Step into Roald Dahl's wonderfully wild imagination and uncover the early drafts of George's Marvellous Medicine. Explore how the story evolved from a few mischievous ideas, then go behind the scenes of Rik Mayall's iconic 1985 Jackanory performance. Enjoy rare behind-the-scenes photos and feast your eyes on the original illustrations by Frances Cony, produced for Mayall's rendition 30 years ago.

Drop in throughout the day for some supersized fun inspired by the ever-growing grandma in George's Marvellous Medicine. Work as a team and use junk materials to try and make the tallest grandma that you can by stacking, balancing and building. At the end you can measure how far she gets!
And don't miss our February half-term workshops...
Step into a world of pure imagination and sculpt your very own fantastical Curious Clay Concoction! Using a range of tools and textures, you'll spend 45 minutes crafting a delumptious clay scene to take home with you.
If mess isn't your thing, join our expert storyteller, Michael, for a Marvellous Meander through Great Missenden to discover the real-life inspirations behind Roald Dahl's tales.
For the curious and the creative, why not Stir Up Some Stories as part of one of our creative writing workshops? Led by our award-winning learning team, you'll come away brimming with ideas for your own story.
Finally, enter our Marvellous Medicine Lab to get stuck in with some hands on science experiments. Join us as we combine ingredients, play around with scale and see what we can launch into the sky!
