About

Our Bat Evenings are taking place on both Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September, 6.15pm – 8.00pm

As the sun sets over the estate, some of Borde Hill's most amazing residents – the bats – are waking up and taking to the night skies.

Join renowned Sussex naturalist, author and guide, Michael Blencowe, for a special evening event to learn all about our incredible bats.

The evening will start with a short illustrated talk where we'll discover more about these incredible animals and how they have adapted to live life after dark, while enjoying tea, coffee and cake inside our Ginkgo Coffee Shop.

Then we'll head out into the woods for a nocturnal walk in our heritage-listed South Park, armed with bat detectors, to look and listen for pipistrelles, serotines, noctules and other bat species.

The event is suitable for families. Please bring a torch.

Itinerary:

6.15pm – Tea, coffee and cake inside our Ginkgo Coffee Shop
6.30pm – Illustrated talk
7.00pm – Bat Walk in Borde Hill's South Park
8.00pm – Close
