Borde Hill Garden

About

Described as ‘One of the country’s truly great gardens’ by Country Life magazine, Borde Hill Garden is more than just a beautiful and historic garden. With a fascinating history dating back to 1890's, it is an idyllic place to while away a day; enjoy the 200 acres of traditional parkland - perfect for a picnic, BBQ, dog walking or for playing ball games! There is also a children’s adventure’ playground

Borde Hill is a botanically rich Grade II* Sussex garden with distinctive living ‘rooms’ each with unique style, including the Azalea Ring, sub-tropical dells and the Rose and Italian Gardens.

It also boasts a fine tree and shrub collection gathered by the Victorian great plant collectors.

Take a leisurely stroll along one of the woodland and lakeside walks offering magnificent views, followed by homemade Afternoon Tea, available at cosy Cafe Elvira’s. There is also the award-winning Jeremy’s Restaurant (featured in the Good Food Guide 2013), Green Tree gallery and a gift shop & plant sales.

Unique events throughout the season including a Sculpture Exhibition, Rose Celebration week, Musical Sundays and Kids Activities from Spring to Autumn.

Borde Hill is a wonderful setting for filming and photo shoots. The 17 acre formal Garden has easy access routes and gentle sloping paths where we also welcome dogs on leads.
