About

A New Way to Explore One of Sussex's Most Iconic Landscapes

Visitors to Beachy Head can now enjoy a brand-new interactive attraction designed to bring the stories, history and natural heritage of this world-famous coastline to life.

Located on Beachy Head Road near Eastbourne, the Beachy Head Experience combines immersive exhibitions, family-friendly activities and self-guided walking adventures, creating an engaging introduction to one of the South Coast's most spectacular destinations.

Perfect for families, walkers and curious explorers, the attraction offers a unique blend of history, technology and outdoor discovery within the stunning surroundings of the South Downs.

Discover the Stories Behind Beachy Head

At the heart of the attraction is Lighthouses, Landscapes & Legends, an interactive exhibition exploring the fascinating history of Beachy Head and the surrounding coastline. Visitors can delve into the formation of the famous white chalk cliffs, uncover stories of local landmarks and learn more about the area's maritime heritage.

A striking large-scale digital model helps illustrate the landscape's geological story, while exhibits reveal the history of the nearby lighthouses and lesser-known chapters from the headland's past.

Take Flight Without Leaving the Ground

One of the attraction's most memorable experiences allows visitors to appear as though they are soaring above Beachy Head and the Belle Tout Lighthouse.

Using innovative green-screen technology, guests can create a personalised flight video to take home as a souvenir of their visit, providing a fun and unique way to remember a day at the coast.

Interactive Fun for All Ages

The Beachy Head Experience has been designed with hands-on discovery in mind.

Visitors can:

  • Experiment with Morse code and semaphore signalling
  • Explore exhibits themed around navigation and weather
  • Use a video telescope to view the surrounding landscape
  • Learn about the extraordinary scale of Beachy Head's cliffs
  • Take part in family-friendly educational activities

Younger visitors can also enjoy complimentary activity packs during their visit.

Continue Your Adventure Outdoors

The experience extends beyond the exhibition space with access to the Beachy Head Trails App, included with admission.

The app features a selection of self-guided walks exploring the surrounding countryside, coastline and nearby villages, helping visitors discover even more of the spectacular landscape surrounding Beachy Head.

Each route includes maps, interpretation and interactive content to enhance the walking experience.
