About

It may be an early start… but it's worth getting up extra early to experience the full power and majesty of the Dawn Chorus choir set against a beautiful spring sunrise.

Join Sussex naturalist Michael Blencowe for a gentle walk through Borde Hill's heritage-listed South Park as the sun rises. Michael will introduce us to the stars of this avian opera – Blackbirds, Chiffchaffs, Song Thrushes, Blackcaps, Cuckoos, Dunnocks, Robins, Wrens, and many more (including, perhaps, a grumpy Tawny Owl insisting the others 'keep it down'). Standing amongst this wild, wonderful cacophony is an unforgettable experience.

After the walk, we'll return to Gingko Coffee Shop for tea, coffee, and freshly baked treats, where Michael will give a short illustrated/audio recap to help you identify the amazing vocalists we encountered.

This event is suitable for beginners, bird enthusiasts, or anyone eager to experience this marvellous natural performance.
