An evening of Opera and The Marriage of Figaro comes to Titsey Place and Gardens in Surrey this September.
Semi-staged by director Guido Martin-Brandis and woven into a narrative full of dramatic intrigue, jealousy, comedy, idealism and true love, follow the characters as they travel through 90 minutes of music, from arias and scenes by Handel, Mozart, Rossini and Puccini to the songs of Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin.
Performed in front of the main house by four fabulous singers and a world-class string quintet, the evening is a sparkling and mischievous summer treat – with the gardens and lake open to ticket-holders in the afternoon to set up their picnics and enjoy the grounds.

Directed by international opera star Danielle de Niese, with a cast and 10 player orchestra, this evening is full of sparkling tunes and the story of tangled romance. Bursting with glorious melodies – from the fizzing overture to the heart-stopping beauty of ‘Dove sono’ and the jubilant finale – The Marriage of Figaro is Mozart at his most brilliant. It’s an irresistible blend of comedy and chaos, set to music that’s simply impossible not to love.
Titsey Place is striking in appearance from the outside, marked by the grand battlemented tower. The Walled Garden has been reinstated as a working kitchen garden. The terraces provide spectacular views over the rose garden and lakes, stretching to the park and plantations beyond. Come earlier in the day to enjoy the Woodland Walk, open every day of the year free of charge.
