About

Winchester Poetry Festival is a festival that aims to be a round table for poetry where everyone is welcome – a hub for poetry locally, nationally, and internationally. The 2025 Festival (2nd – 12th October 2025) has a focus on revising the classics, with featured poetry performances from Diane Seuss, Fiona Benson, Richard Scott, Roy McFarlane and many more. 

The in-person weekend will be held at The ARC, Winchester on 10th - 12th Oct. There are fringe and online events around the city and online workshops from 2nd Oct.

  • National Poetry Day with Mark Rutter and Julian Stannard - Workshops, readings and open mic - 2nd October - 4.30pm - 7.45pm
  • Mining The Classics with Julia Copus - Online - 6th October - 6.30pm - 8.30pm
  • Poetry Platform x WPF25 with Hilary Davies - Open Mic - 7th October - 7pm - 10.30pm
  • Canon or Cannon with Will Harris - Online - 9th October - 6.30 - 8.30pm
  • Welcome to the Winchester Poetry Festival -  In person - 10th October - 5.30pm - 6.30pm 
  • Hampshire Young Poets 2025 - In person - 11th October - 11am - 12pm
  • Poetry Collage from the Compost of the Classics - In person - 12th October - 11 - 12.30pm
