Winchester Heritage Open Days 2026 returns from Friday 11 to Sunday 20 September, inviting everyone to discover the city's rich heritage through ten days of free events.
Explore hidden places, remarkable stories, historic buildings, guided walks, fascinating talks, behind the scenes tours, exhibitions and family friendly activities across Winchester. Whether you are uncovering centuries of local history, stepping inside buildings that are rarely open to the public, or trying something completely new, there is something for all ages and interests.
Part of England's largest festival of history and culture, Heritage Open Days celebrates the people, places and stories that have shaped our communities. This year's Winchester programme brings together museums, churches, historic homes, community groups, charities and volunteers to showcase the city's unique heritage.
