Once you would have seen this idyllic picture along every canal, as before trains this was one of the early passenger transit systems, offering an alternative to horse-drawn road carriages. Today its an experience from yesteryear.
These public horse-drawn trips along the Kennet and Avon Canal are available from Easter to the end of September. You can just hop on if we have any spare seats – but it’s best to book in advance so that you guarantee reserved seats.
Enjoy a leisurely 2-hour horse-drawn boat return trip from Kintbury Lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Look out for horses Monty or Drummer on your trip.
