Happy Birthday Jane Austen!
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth on Tuesday 16th December 2025, you are invited to visit the Abbey Gateway, once part of the school where the author and her sister spent almost two years.
The Museum's staff and volunteers will welcome visitors throughout the day, answering questions and sharing interesting facts and anecdotes about Jane Austen's years in Reading.
We expect the event to be very popular: please book your place in one of the slots as soon as possible.
