Green Festival at COAM
At this special 'green' event, listen to live acoustic music, meet the Green Man horse rider, take part in wellbeing activities and find out ways that you can help take care of our environment.
The Green Festival will have activities for everyone including talks from nature and environmental speakers, garden tours, and family activities such as seed planting, building water catchers, pond dipping and nature trails.
The museum has a range of cottage gardens, apple and cherry orchards and a 'Dig for Victory' allotment, which are all maintained by a team of volunteers. Come and chat to the team about what they are growing and their methods. Learn about how you can compost at home, the uses of herbs that can be grown in your garden, and sustainable gardening. Find out about the work that bees do and how important they are to our environment.
At the event you can discover ways of using nature to improve your wellbeing through activities such as Tai Chi.
There will be the opportunity to learn about the importance of the Chess Valley chalk streams and find out more about the River Chess Smarter Water Catchment Initiative and ways that you can help to save water.
We will also have a small 'green' artisan market where you can buy some eco-friendly products.
This event is kindly supported by a River Chess Community Grant.
