Bring the family along to make and decorate your own bat box to take home with you and hang outside for your local bats!
Join us for some wildlife-friendly crafting as a family, working together to build and decorate your very own wooden bat box.
You'll learn all about the fascinating creatures that may make your box their home, how bat boxes support them during hibernation, and we'll share some top tips for where to place your finished box.
Take your creation home and hang it outside, and you might even find some new neighbours move in!
Why not make a day of it? Tickets include 20% off in the cafe on the day of the event, so you can arrive early and have a family lunch overlooking the lake, or treat yourselves to hot drinks to enjoy during the workshop.
This event will take place inside the Visitor Centre. You may like to bring an apron or an old shirt to protect your clothing while you decorate your bat box.
You will be making a simple bat box using a kit designed for children, you will not need to use tools as part of this event. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Tickets are for a maximum group of 5 people per bat box, this must include the accompanying adults.
