Britain at War
On this special Britain at War weekend, we will be joined by re-enactors depicting different wartime periods throughout Britain's history. Visit the living history camps and watch a variety of displays.
Napoleonic Era
Meet Napoleonic soldiers and find out about the life of a Rifleman in Wellington's army during the Peninsular War. Visit the living history encampment and learn how the soldiers' families lived. Watch a thrilling display of military skill as the soldiers skirmish (please note that this will include gunfire).
World War One
See costumed re-enactors in the encampment. Watch sword and bayonet exercises and gas drills. Learn about the women's auxiliary army core and find out what life would have been like.
World War Two
We will be joined by members of the Oxford Home Guard Group who will be demonstrating what life was like on the home front during the Second World War.
American Infantry
Meet the soldiers of the field Headquarters for the 35th Infantry Division stationed in England prior to D-Day. See a US Army Chaplain in the field with his wartime Jeep & trailer. Re-enactors from the American Infantry Living History Group will demonstrate what life was like for the soldiers with interactive talks and walk-throughs.
