Top class day of racing followed by fan favourite Olly Murs taking to the Party in the Paddock stage
With a jam-packed race card of seven exciting races, the action on the track kicks off with the Group 3 BetVictor Geoffrey Freer Stakes, won last year by the Martyn and Freddie Meade trained Zechariah. The feature race of the day, the Group 2 BetVictor Hungerford Stakes, promises thrilling racing action on the track. Last year won by Jumby, locally trained by Eve Johnson Houghton, the race is run over the straight seven furlongs.
Aside from the racing action, there is a host of entertainment off the track for all to enjoy. Racegoers can sign up on the day to behind-the-scenes tours of Newbury Racecourse and go down to the start with trips led by former professional jockey David Crosse. There will be live music played throughout the afternoon in the rhododendron garden and Newbury's resident retired racehorse, Ouzbeck, will be stabled onsite to meet racegoers.
Following an action-packed afternoon of top-quality racing, fan favourite and crowd pleaser Olly Murs returns to the famous Party In the Paddock Stage at Newbury Racecourse. The British singer-songwriter has enjoyed four UK number one albums and four UK number one singles with hits including Please Don't Let Me Go', 'Heart Skips a Beat', 'Dance With Me Tonight' and 'Troublemaker'. With 6 million Spotify monthly listeners, 800 million YouTube views & 1.8 million tour tickets sold, the stats speak for themselves, Olly Murs will guarantee a great performance.
With the onsite train station and free parking, it couldn't be easier to get to Newbury Racecourse this summer. For more information on anything happening at Newbury in 2023 please visit www.newburyracecourse.co.uk.
