About

Is East Wittering beach a good beach to visit?

East Wittering beach is a less popular choice than its sister West Wittering, but this means it is a quieter more relaxed option. The beach provides sandy beach at low tide, pebbly at high tide. Ideal for a family day out offering great paddling, good swimming, sandcastle building, coastal walks with its natural rugged feel. It is possible to walk from here to West Wittering and to Bracklesham Bay. The beach is a great spot for water sports and there is local tuition and equipment hire available.

The sailing here varies from flat water through bump 'n' jump to down the line wave riding depending on the state of tide and the wind direction, you'll often see surfers and paddleboarders here depending on the day. Generally, a quiet location, on a good summers day visitors, sailors and surfers can spread across a very wide beach.

This is a great stop to watch the sun go down and enjoy a Sussex sunset, and East Wittering village centre is just a short walk away with its ice cream parlour, pub and restaurants.

Where is East Wittering Beach?

East Wittering is located on the West Sussex coastline, just 7 miles from Chichester city centre. The beach lies in the middle of West Wittering and Selsey.
