Mirror Moon by Luke Jerram

About

A new installation by artist Luke Jerram has landed at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich this summer.  Celebrating 350 years of studying the Moon from the Royal Observatory.

The Mirror Moon is a scale model 2m in diameter and made from mirrored stainless steel. Using highly accurate topographical NASA data of the lunar surface to transport the Moon from hundreds of thousands of miles away – to right beneath your fingertips.

Luke Jerram is a multi-disciplinary British artist, best-known for his large-scale public engagement artworks with previous creations like Museum of the Moon and Gaia, both of which have been displayed internationally.

Mirror Moon is included with admission to the Royal Observatory.
