Surrey professional theatre company LynchPin brings a beguiling play to Petersfield this month. 'I Take Your Hand in Mine' by Carol Rocamora is inspired by the love letters between playwright Anton Chekhov and actress Olga Knipper. They first met at a rehearsal of his play 'The Seagull' in 1898. Due to his ill heath, Chekhov later moved to Yalta where he wrote the masterpieces in which Olga would perform in Moscow. Designed to be performed as a reading, the play is crafted from the hundreds of letters which connected them while apart. Eloquent and moving, the play is a brilliant dramatization of this creative couple's careers and their passionate relationship.
