The Cookham and Maidenhead Arts Trail (CAMAT) returns for the 11th year to showcase the work of local artists on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 2025, open 10 am–5pm on both days.
This free, two-day open-studio event invites art lovers on a colourful journey through a rich network of local venues — all within a five-mile radius — highlighting the creative handiwork of approximately 50 artists across 16 venues.
CAMAT is a unique opportunity for visitors to:
• View and purchase artworks spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery.
• Meet artists in their creative environments, gaining insight into their processes and inspiration.
• Enjoy demonstrations and refreshments at some venues and community camaraderie at them all.
One of the organisers Jill Chadwick, herself a long-standing glass artist and Treasurer of CAMAT, emphasises:
"Artists get to meet customers and value the feedback, which is often very uplifting. Visitors get the opportunity to buy from an artist they have met and understand the meaning behind the artwork."
"One of our artists had a painting of a Yorkshire waterfall. The visitor recognised it and, once they had both uncovered the many connections they had, the lady said it had made her day. Art can evoke such great memories."
The upcoming trail will spotlight fresh talent alongside returning artists. There are a number of multi-artist venues including Braywick Nursery and St Lukes Church as well as smaller venues with 2 or 3 artists. Visitors will receive a warm welcome at all venues and are welcome to browse, with no obligation to buy. There is even a prize draw if you visit 5 or more venues.
Follow CAMAT on Facebook and Instagram for updates, including previews of participating artists and
venue locations.
