National Bike Week
June sees the country celebrate all things two wheeled, with the arrival of National Bike Week. There over 1,500 events expected to take place around the UK, aiming to help promote and widen the appeal of cycling. Not to be left out, the South East will be joining in with all the fun, hosting happenings throughout the counties from free bike checking in Kent to leisurely countryside cycle rides in Surrey. http://www.bikeweek.org.uk
If there isn't an event taking place near you, don't be perturbed as you can still play your part. Get out and about and explore the regions Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These provide all kinds of idyllic backdrops from coastal views to forest retreats and with the Surrey Hills there is also the chance to try electric biking, making any inclines a breeze to tackle! .

If you catch the cycling bug then why not look out for the Tour De France when it whizzes through town in July. Completing its first stage in England, the tour weaves its way through the Kentish destinations of Gravesend, Medway, Maidstone and Royal Tunbridge Wells before ending in Canterbury. You could even choose to cycle the route yourself with the aid of Capital Sport who will be running a dedicated tour.
