Royal AscotMany horseracing legends have raced at Royal Ascot over the past fifty years. The outstanding work of four famous jockey’s in particular; Frankie Dettori, Lester Piggott, Pat Eddery and Johnny Murtach has highly influenced the quality of horseracing - winning some of the most highly coveted accolades on racing's grandest stage. Each year Ascot Racecourse welcomes in excess of 500,000 racegoers, a tradition that began in 2001 when it became the first racecourse in the country to do so.

Now over 300,000 people make the annual visit to Berkshire during Royal Ascot week alone.

The Ascot Racecourse is steeped in history and dates back to 1711 when the first race was overseen by Queen Anne. Since then it has gone from strength to strength and has recently undergone a major £200 million redevelopment programme, re-opening in 2006 for the Royal Meeting.
