Go wild in the country
Kent and Sussex Wildlife Trusts have joined forces with Wildlife Travel to offer weekend breaks to explore the wonderful wildlife and countryside in Sussex and Kent.
The Kent experience focuses on the wild flowers of the North Downs whose warm south-facing slopes are undoubtedly the richest habitats in Britain. The short break also offers the opportunity to enjoy some of the exciting butterflies and other invertebrates that share this unique habitat.
Sussex are offering two short breaks, one looking at the wildlife to be found in mid-summer and will be particularly focussing on butterflies and dragonflies and also include an evening visit to listen for nightjars. The second break sees Sussex Wildlife Trust join forces with the Alfriston Youth Hostel to put on an exciting family weekend to learn bushcraft skills in nearby Friston Forest learning how to make and light campfires, how to make a basic shelter and learning how to use tools safely.
