With many fine vineyards, hop farms, orchards and historic gardens in the area there really is something here for everyone. Spend a weekend exploring this wonderful part of the South East and find out for yourself why Kent is truly 'The Garden of England'.

Hever CastleWhy not visit Hever Castle, a romantic 13th century moated castle surrounded by a number of spectacular, award winning gardens. You could easily spend an entire morning here wandering through the castle's magnificent Tudor, Rose and Italian gardens or by strolling alongside the castle's picturesque lake. If you are in this part of the country for the weekend, be sure to stay at Becketts B&B. Less than a ten minute drive away, Becketts is a charming 300 year old listed barn set in the heart of the beautiful Kentish countryside.

Penshurst PlaceAnother fantastic place to visit is Penhurst Place and Gardens, one of the oldest gardens in the South East, with records dating back to 1346. This eleven acre formal garden, dived by 1.5 miles of yew hedging, is a series of beautifully themed garden rooms, each with their own season and colour. A great place to stay over for the night is The Spa Hotel. This elegant 17th century country mansion, located only six miles away from Penhurst, is set in fourteen acres of beautiful grounds and overlooks the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Mount EphraimOn the other side of Kent, close to the historic cathedral city of Canterbury, is Mount Ephraim Garden. An enchanting Edwardian garden, Mount Ephraim features fragrant rose gardens, woodland areas and a scenic lake. Why not spend the weekend in the area, discover the nearby city of Canterbury and stay at Magnolia House, a lovely Georgian family guest house within walking distance of the city's famous cathedral.

Not even half an hour's drive away is The Brogdale Horticultural Trust near Faversham. A visit to Brogdale is worthwhile anytime of the year with its splendid spring blossom and enchanted summer orchards. A fantastic place to spend the night, when exploring this wonderful part of Kent, is Brenley Farm House located on a traditional Kentish working farm, amidst hop gardens, orchards and paddocks.
