NEW FOR 2008: Denbies Wine Estate launches Harvest Photograph Competition
29th September 2008
Denbies, in conjunction with Andy Newbold photography, are delighted to announce the introduction of the Harvest photographic competition. Harvest is the most significant time in the year of the vineyard. Denbies produces in excess of 300,000 litres of grape juice a year, which is reflected in the energy, enthusiasm & celebration that surrounds the harvest. In the brief window of October the foundations are laid for the wine production of the coming year. Ablaze with spectacular colour and vines heavily laden with grapes, the vineyard lends itself perfectly to photographic interpretation. Your own version of harvest is welcomed.
The closing date for entries is 7 November and the entries will be judged by local professional photographer, Andy Newbold. Andy is based in Leatherhead and has a broad knowledge of photographic techniques covering everything from weddings and portraits to commercial and magazine work. He is the official photographer at the Leatherhead Drama Festival which is supported by Sir Michael Caine.
Denbies Wine Estate held its first art competition, the Bacchus Award in 2003 – Bacchus being the Roman God of Wine. It is a chance for artists of all levels of experience and calibre to exhibit their work in a professional yet relaxed atmosphere and takes place annually in January
