THE BIG DRAW at Bedgebury 2008

1st October 2008

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest (managed by the Forestry Commission) is delighted to be taking part in The Big Draw for the fourth year running.  Bedgebury will be hosting an all day event during half term on Tuesday 28th October; an ideal opportunity for children, families and individuals to get back in touch with their artistic tendencies.

The Big Draw is the UK’s biggest annual free art event.  Initiated by the Campaign for Drawing, it encourages everyone to discover the purposes, pleasures and power of drawing.  Big Draw events create a carnival atmosphere, bringing people of all ages together to inspire inventiveness, challenge expectations and, above all, have fun.  No previous experience is needed. The Big Draw has encouraged over a million people back to the drawing board since it began in 2000.

“Last year hundreds of people turned up to The Big Draw at Bedgebury and had huge fun producing some fantastic art,” says Cath Armstrong, Bedgebury’s Learning and Interpretation Manager. “This year we’re welcoming everyone back for another chance to get inspired by this wonderful place. It doesn’t matter if you have never drawn, or if you are an Old Master. We will provide all the art materials. Just turn up at the Visitor Centre and have a go.”

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
