Firle Place
Firle Place, at the foot of the rolling hills of the South Downs is home to the Gage family since the 15th century. General Sir Thomas Gage was the last British Governor of Massachusetts (1774-1775) and was Commander-in-Chief of the British Forces at the outbreak of the American War of Independence.
