‘Old Bony Legs’ Folklore this half term at The Historic Dockyard
12th September 2008
Brand new interactive story telling will take place at The Historic Dockyard Chatham during the half term holiday at the end of October. ‘Old Bony Legs’ is based on traditional folklore and is a story of good winning over evil. Visitors will hear how a little girl, Becky, faces up to ‘Old Bony Legs’ the Witch. They will actually assist in the hunt for her through mysterious dark corridors and help Becky look for three items which will assist her - a shining eye, blood and a skull. But visitors will discover that not everything is what it seems! This session will take place daily from 26th October until 2nd November at 2.30 pm in the Wooden Walls Gallery.
Visitors will also be able to join the popular Family Ropery Tour and make their own piece of rope, plus take part in a brass-rubbing trail, Family Fun Trail (downloadable from the website before visiting) and themed colouring. Opportunities for children to let off steam are offered by the outdoor adventure play area and the indoor play area and ball pool.
Steam trains will be running along the dockyard’s railway lines creating further interest and spectacle on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd November.
All activities are included in the normal admission prices and return visits with the 12 month tickets are valid throughout the school holiday period.
