Princes Risborough
An historic market town, named after the 14th century Black Prince who owned a stud farm here. Its unhurried main street has an interesting mix of shops and a brick Market House with open arcades. Behind this lie the church and Manor House.
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty forms a glorious backdrop to the town which is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding countryside.
Princes Risborough lies at the centre of an extensive network of waymarked public footpaths, with the Ridgeway National Trail skirting the town, and many places to cycle can be found along quieter lanes and bridleways. Magnificent red kites soar overhead aftre a successful re-introduction scheme in the Chilterns during the 1980's.
