Crawley
Crawley is one of the largest Towns in Sussex and with its close links to Gatwick, many in the area have proposed changing it's name to Gatwick City. There has been considerable opposition to the name change, but like so many other villages and towns throughout the county names are something which changes through the centuries.
Just next door is the award-winning Tilgate Park. Set in 162 hectares of wonderful parkland it boasts rare specimen trees, a nature centre and its own pub. Or try the Crawley Millennium Greenway, a 24 km orbital route meandering through woodlands and open space around the town.
There’s always something to see or do in Crawley, whether it’s the annual Crawley Festival in June, the London to Brighton Veteran Car Rally in November or the International Mela or the circus festival in the summer.
And whether you’re here on business or pleasure Crawley has a great selection of places to stay from top class hotels to B&Bs and guest houses.
