Borde Hill Garden

Described as ‘One of the country’s truly great gardens’ by Country Life magazine, Borde Hill Garden is more than just a beautiful and historic garden. With a fascinating history dating back to 1890's, it is an idyllic place to while away a day; enjoy the 200 acres of traditional parkland - perfect for a picnic, BBQ, dog walking or for playing ball games! There is also a kids’ playground

Borde Hill is a botanically rich Grade II* Sussex garden with distinctive living ‘rooms’ each with unique style, including the including the Azalea Ring, sub-tropical dells and the Rose and Italian Gardens. Early spring-flowering magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas give way to exuberant borders of roses and herbaceous plants in the summer before the wonderful autumnal hues in the garden and park. It also boasts a fine tree and shrub collection gathered by the Victorian great plant collectors.

Take a leisurely stroll along one of the woodland and lakeside walks offering magnificent views, followed by afternoon Tea, available at Cafe Elvira.

We welcome groups - you can book a group of 20 or more for a house tour with cream tea. For events or groups and tours, you can book here. Remember that as a coach driver bringing a group of 15 or more people, you get a £10 voucher to spend in the shop (souvenirs, cold drinks and ice creams).

You can download a leaflet here.
