About

The Kings Theatre hosts a special night at the proms to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Billed as an "outstanding commemoration", the performance will feature music performed live by the 40-piece Kings Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Woodford.

Your host for the evening will be ITV presenter Matt Teale, whilst star of Eastenders Emma Barton will also appear. Among those giving tribues will be:
Vice Lord-Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ackroyd TD RD DL
The Rt Hon the Lord Lancaster of Kimbolton PC
Commodore John Voyce OBE ADC RN (Naval Base Commander – Portsmouth) representing the Armed Forces.

There will also be incredible talent on show from The Kings Theatre Choir (Resonate) led by KTAA (Kings Theatre Arts Academy) Principal Paul Clements.

The show will be produced and plotted together by Paul Woolf and Jack Edwards, the creative duo behind Kings Theatre hits Titanic, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Shop of Horrors and, of course, The Pompey Panto.

Expect an evening of celebration, whilst singing along to some of your favourite songs of the era.
