South East England has petting zoos and animal farms across the area packed with things to do for all the family.

Farms Parks in the UK are increasing in popularity and it is no wonder so many are turning to agritourism for family days out with activities being offered from feeding the animals to riding a pony. Many of the farmhouses in the South East provide new experiences and different types of farming for people of all ages.

Children's farms give kids the chance to get close to animals such as pigs or have a softer experience with rabbits. There is a lot of history and heritage when it comes to farming therefore most attractions will have a museum to give visitors an insight into farming history and working practices.

Most of the farms will have a cafe where after long day you can just relax and sample of some of the organic food and drink that is on offer.

Every day at Farmer Gow’s in Oxfordshire, you’ll be able meet and pet the animals 'hands on' with piglets, goats and sheep. If you require extra assistance to make sure your children can experience a farm fully then look no further than Fairytale Farm, Oxfordshire, which is the only visitor attraction in the UK to put disabled children first in the design and layout.

Fishers Adventure Farm Park in West Sussex, offers fun activities including a tractor ride and a barrel bug ride for the kids to complement the animal encounters barn. At Drusillas Park, Eastbourne, animals are only part of the fun, as you can try the Amazon Adventure, Mungo's Adventure Maze and Hello Kitty Secret Garden, as well as Thomas the Tank Engine that kids of all ages can ride.
