The Isle of Wight is set for another eventful year with an calendar crammed to bursting. The island's nautical links mean its easy to find events that allow you to spend time in, on or by the water, and with an array of home grown producers on the island, food festivals, aritsan markets and dining experiences feature heavily in the 2024 events calendar. Being an island means water and the coast play a big part in the Isle of Wight's event calendar, from the internationally renowned Round the Island Race and Cowes Week, to the many of the castles that once defended the island's shores which now provide great places to dive into history and offer a great value family day out. Make a visit to Carisbrook Castle (open weekends and holidays only until February half term) and walk the walls with their breathtaking views, or visit one of the most famous houses on the Island, Osborne, it's a great choice whenever you visit. Why not take a stroll down to Queen Victoria's private beach and your visit can combine history, coast and countryside in one!
As half of the Isle of Wight is a Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB), the dramatic scenery and beautiful countryside play a starring role in any visit, with many of the island's events celebrating the islands rural nature and natural beauty including the Isle of Wight walking festival which stretches across the island with over 55 walks on offer (11th - 19th May 24) and the Royal Isle of Wight County Show (13th & 14th July 24).
