Hawk Conservancy Trust
Animal Collection / Zoo
The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a visitor centre and conservation charity that works in the fields of conservation, education, rehabilitation and research of birds of prey.
If you have not yet witnessed the beauty and mystique of the Hawk Conservancy Trust, prepare yourselves for a truly unique day out. The Trust’s park is set among 22 acres of stunning woodland and wildflower meadow. With over 50 species of birds of prey and other animals, visitors will have the opportunity to get close up and personal to the best that nature offers.
Daily flying demonstrations take place and give visitors a chance to see a variety of owls, kites, hawks, cultures and eagles flying in a natural setting. Each display is different to the last and will capture the imagination of those who attend. For those who wish to get up close and personal, there is the opportunity to hold a bird of prey or owl during your visit.
For younger visitors, there is the chance to have plenty of fresh air and exercise and our adventure playground is a popular destination for children. The raptor passport trail leads children round the Trust’s park, discovering different bird of prey species, encouraging them to learn while having plenty of fun. In the summer months, a tractor takes the children around the perimeter of the 6.5 acres of wildflower meadow, a highlight for many.
Feathers Restaurant offers a wide selection of local and homemade produce and refreshments in unique surroundings.
The Hawk Conservancy Trust has a programme of events throughout the year, including our very popular ‘Owls by Moonlight,’ and hosts a range of experience days for those wishing to get more involved with the wildlife.
