The South East of England is filled with a wealth of literary connections, from the River Thames countryside that was home to Ratty, Mole and Toad, to the Oxford of Alice in Wonderland.

Here is a selection of some of the most famous authours to have been inspired by South East England:

C.S. Lewis

CS LewisC.S Lewis moved to Oxford after his mothers' death. While living in the city he joined the Inklings and wrote 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.
