Lashings of ginger beer at Exbury

18th August 2008

Gosh! Lashings of ginger beer were poured at Exbury Gardens when Two Got Back Together Again.

As loyal Timmy the dog softly thumped his tail, Julian and Anne hatched a spiffing plan to roll back the years to 1978, when they starred in the massively popular ITV production of Enid Blyton’s ‘Famous Five’ series, much of which was filmed at Exbury.

Thames Valley region anchor man and top presenter Wesley Smith explained: “To celebrate 50 years of ITV we’re making a feature film, looking at past programmes.”

“We were delighted to welcome Wesley, Marcus and Jennifer to Exbury,” said Nigel Philpott, marketing manager at the world-famous Gardens.“

They knocked back the ginger beer and cream buns as if they were camping on Kirrin Island again.”

Wesley interviewed Marcus Harris (Julian), Marcus’s loyal dog who is a dead ringer for the original Timmy, and Jennifer Thanisch (Anne) at Exbury for the programme which should be transmitted on August 26th.
