Lambing in South East England

South East England has a number of farms that offer lambing experiences that have proved year after year a hit with all the family. As the spring flowers start to blossom, lambing season begins to peak and attracts thousands of families across the UK every year. It is a great chance to see lambs actually being born, taking those first few steps and bonding with their mothers for the first time. We will guide you through the best farms in the South East that offer those special lambing days.

Goodwood's Home Farm, West Sussex

Goodwood Home Farm is holding it's very own lambing afternoon for Half Term (21st Feb)

Children can get involved with a range of fun farm activities, including making a paper pot and planting a seed; spinning and combing some wool and even making their very own sheep on a stick! From there, take a walk around the farm and into the lambing sheds where you will see Goodwood's very own lambs.

Fishers Adventure Farm Park, West Sussex

If you're in West Sussex then why not spring over to Fishers during March and April and enjoy bottle feeding the newborn lambs! They've got a great selection of breeds and lucky visitors may even get chance to see a baby lamb being born!

Odds Farm Park, Buckinghamshire

Odds Farm Park, High Wycombe, is a local family run attraction offering the very best mixture of fun, education, play and entertainment to our visitors. Lambing season has already begun as families will be able to feed the lambs. Visitors on a day out will be able to recognise Russell the ram by his curly horns and beautiful black and white coat.

Coombes Farm Tours, West Sussex

West Sussex's Coombes Farm, where the land has been farmed by the Passmore family for over 100 years, will run their lambing season from 18 March –  23rd April 2017. Visitors are invited to come and see the lambs being born. The famr have 800 ewes meaning around 1,200 lambs will be being born during this time.

Gaston Farm, West Sussex

Get 'up close' with the Lambs from 18 March - 16 April 2017.

Bring the children to see the miracle of new life – traditional Easter lambing at Gaston Farm, Slindon. We have tractor and trailer rides out to the fields to see where the sheep live, on the South Downs.

Butser Acient Farm, Hampshire

The team at Butser Ancient Farm are delighted to announce the arrival of the first lambs of 2017! A set of twins were born in the early hours of Saturday morning, and both are healthy and tumbling about already. The sheep are a rare Iron Age breed called Manx Loaghtan and are originally from the Isle of Man. Current opening times are Monday-Friday 10am-4pm, and from April the farm is open seven days a week.

Chiltern Open Air Museum, Buckinghamshire

Come and meet the gorgeous spring lambs born at the Museum and explore our traditional Chilterns farm and lambing fold (22 - 23 April 2017). Learn about the lambing traditions of the Victorian Chilterns in our historic working farm and get involved in fun family craft activities.

Bocketts Farm, Surrey

Enjoy a great day out in the beautiful English countryside with lots of friendly animals, farm activities and plenty of indoor and outdoor play. Lambing will begin from 25th March to 2nd April, and with over 300 gorgeous baby lambs due over 6 weeks, you may even get the chance to see one being born. Don’t miss the baby chicks and ducklings in animal handling sessions throughout the day too. Other farm activities include goat milking, tractor rides, pony rides and the famous pig racing.

Green Dragon Eco Farm, Buckinghamshire

Our Rare Breed ewes are getting ready for our lambing season here at Green Dragon, starting on Saturday 25th March until 16th April! We have seven different breeds of sheep so our new lambs will be all shapes and sizes!
