Stone Cross Garden Centre and woodland walk

About

Stone Cross Garden Centre are now, and have always been, an inventive independent centre where you can buy most things that you require for your garden.

We excel at having an extensive knowledge of plants, with the back up to support our plant sales. We are happy to help with all garden queries, and our trained staff are on hand to give advice.

The garden centre is situated on 13 acres of land which has many open areas and also has a ancient woodland. In recent years we have managed and cultivated the woodland and created a Woodland walk which can be enjoyed by all the family. In the spring the floor is covered with bluebells making this a spectacular walk. Throughout the year different areas have been developed to produce colour all year round. The woodland is also home to lots of rare animals and birds. There is an area especially devoted to butterflies. The walk is a ideal place to relax and enjoy nature in its original form.

At Stone Cross Nurseries we work alongside the community in a number of areas. There are a number of allotments on the site, a number of football pitches and training pitches which are used by a local youth team. There is also a Golf Academy on the side which has its own putting green, chipping area and driving range.

Stone Cross Garden Centre hosts a number of events throughout the year ranging from beer festival to classic car and steam rallies. Wedding receptions and celebrations are also held here making use of the event room and outdoor purpose built stage and outdoor bar area. The event field has been hired privately and can be used for a number of different purposes.

At Stone Cross Florist, we provide a wide choice of cut-flowers sold by the stem or arranged beautifully in a hand tied bouquet or foam arrangement. We are available for gifts on special occasions such as Births, Birthdays and Anniversaries as well as the traditional occasions of Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. We offer both traditional and modern designs to suit any style in mind. Whatever your cut-flower requirements, our florist is happy to help as she has many years experience in both traditional and modern designs, enabling her to create your perfect arrangement. We specialise in weddings and funerals, and we will sit down over a cup of coffee to discuss your needs in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

At Stone Cross Garden Centre, we pride ourselves on the range of plants we can supply and the advice we are able to give to support your purchase. Each section of the centre has staff dedicated to their specialist gardening area who are available to consult, before and after, you make any selections. We are also happy to help with garden problems like pests, diseases, weed control and cultivation advice to enable you to get the best from gardening.

In the centre we have a wide range of plants including shrubs, roses, trees, fruit trees, alpines, soft fruit, house plants, bedding plants, herbs, clematis and climbing plants, hedging, herbaceous, ferns, grasses and bamboos, hardy palms, aquatic

plants, azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias and hydrangeas.

The centre also sells everything you will need to help you enjoy your garden and care for it, including; sundries, compost, bark, cobbles and stone, furniture, stone furniture and ornaments, fencing, seeds and bulbs, bird feed, books, gifts, pots, BBQs, solar lights, water features and tools plus much more.

The Grapevine Cafe serves hot and cold tasty food and refreshing drinks daily. The cafe can cater for large and small groups. Relax indoors or bask in the sun in our outdoor courtyard.

There is a adventure play area with picnic area ideal for sunny days to enjoy with the children.

Stone Cross Garden Centre has its own coach park and can be used  as a stop of destination for any large or small groups.

The centre is wheelchair accessible and has disabled toilets.
