SKATE Tunbridge Wells
Tunbridge Wells
Tunbridge Wells
From 15 November, Calverley Grounds will be transformed into the ultimate winter destination, signalling the start of the festive season. SKATE Tunbridge Wells returns for 2019 with stylish skating, festive food and drink, music and Christmas spirit. Booking is open now.
There will be very exciting additions this year with a SECOND rink. This will be our very special Tiny tots Rink dedicated to two to four year olds and will be open all day from 10am with the last session at 5pm daily. The Tiny tots Rink and been kindly sponsored by Childrensalon. We are also very excited to announce Bavarian Curling on the smaller rink from 6pm, a traditional German ice game somewhere between curling and bowls, so come and show your skills from beginners to professionals with our leaderboard! We are one of very few places in the UK with this fabulous attraction AND the only place in the South East to offer it!
By day or night, visitors can skate in the beautiful splendour of Calverley Grounds’ amphitheater, decorated for Christmas with twinkling festive lights. Our very special launch event will be taking place on opening night Friday 15 November, all exciting details to be announced very soon.
Storytelling workshops will be taking place and the SKATE Tunbridge Wells will once again collaborate with The Forum, the lifeblood of the live music scene, and host live music events (dates to be confirmed). We will also have local choirs performing on Sundays and there will be Carol-okie and Christmas Wreath making workshops and story sessions. And we’re not just about skating and events, SKATE Tunbridge Wells is also set to be one of the best food and drink destinations in the South East this Christmas with the Polar Bar, Apple and Cor, and beautiful pop ups serving pizza, crepes, donuts, sweets and more, all with comfortable seating areas, Christmas theme, and of course mulled wine on offer!
Full access will also be provided daily for the event.
Main skating sessions will take place from 10am until 8pm. Please note the last skating session will be 6pm on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Year’s Day.
Skate tickets are now on sale and this year we’ve made it even more affordable, with adult tickets from just £12.50 and children from £8 on our Saver Sessions and £15 for adults and £10 for children on our Standard Sessions, with all ticket prices including skate hire. Sessions sell out quickly so it is advised that visitors book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. Go! Card tickets available at £5 and seal skating aids will be available at £4.
Advanced booking is recommended at peak times – Thursday and Friday evenings, school holidays and all day Saturday and Sunday. Motorised and non-motorised wheelchair users are welcome to enjoy the rink in their own wheelchair but must be accompanied by an assisting companion.
