Hughenden Manor

About

Amid rolling Chiltern countryside, discover the former home of the great Victorian statesman Benjamin Disraeli. Hughenden provides a fascinating glimpse into the private world of one of the most colourful and charismatic characters of his age.

Whilst here stroll across the hillside or look up and spot a Red Kite soaring above the green parkland. Discover the secret wartime history, relax in the elegant garden and then visit the restaurant and gift shop.

Introductory videos, sound effects and hands-on activities for children have been designed to bring Hughenden Manor to life in a way that will intrigue all ages.

Little known facts:
1. Hughenden Manor has 57 varieties of old English apple growing in the orchard.
2. Hughenden Manor has over 600 acres of woodland and parkland to explore.
3. The parkland is home to a stunning Manna Ash which was historically cut for its sweet tasting sap.
4. Over 400 volunteers help the team at Hughenden to maintain this historic property.
5. The house features very little electrical lighting as one of its former residents believed it was a "passing fad".
