Frogmore Paper Mill is the world’s oldest mechanised paper mill, the birthplace of paper’s industrial revolution. Now operated by a conservation charity, Frogmore is both a working paper mill and a heritage visitor experience. Our paper machines date from 1895 and 1902 and there is lots of letterpress printing equipment here on site, too. Learn the fascinating story of paper, its role in shaping the modern world and, if you’d like, make a sheet of your own. Tour the mill with one of our volunteer guides and undertake a short cruise down the river Gade to the Grand Union Canal. There’s lots do see, do and discover.
We accept pre-booked groups Monday to Friday and Sundays. On Thursdays and the 1st Sunday of every month individual visitors and small groups can visit without booking in advance.
Industrial Heritage in action. Allow at least 3 hours. Close to the Snow Centre and Warner Bros Studio Tour, Harry Potter Experience, Whipsnade Zoo, NHM Tring.
Open for Pre-booked Groups (10+) Monday to Friday 10.00 to 15.00.
