The Cock Inn

About

Buried deep in the countryside, this 17th-century pub is steeped in history. The original part of The Cock Inn was built in the 1700s and was originally a home for the stonemasons who built the beautiful church that looms behind.

Firmly at the heart of this picturesque village, it reopened its doors in March 2015 after a £450,000 extensive refurbishment, restoring this unloved pub back to the locals where it belongs.

Inside is a large space divided off into smaller sections giving a cosy, warm atmosphere. Contemporary meets country is the theme throughout; the decor takes inspiration from its surroundings, where banquette seating and copper topped tables fuse effortlessly with countryside pursuit touches such as equine inspired feature walls and blinds with showing hunting scenes.

The Cock Inn is quickly becoming renowned for its fresh, local and seasonal British food. Customers can enjoy watching the chefs in an open plan kitchen, cooking up culinary delights such as smoked duck salad with blueberries, orange and hazelnut dressing and exquisitely cooked steaks of aged beef from local farms. Supporting small British producers where ever possible is of prime importance.

A fully stocked bar at the front of the pub, has a cosy open fire and is ideal for a leisurely drink both pre- meal and after. A selection of craft beers and local ales plus a wide selection of wines, Champagnes by the glass or bottle, and premium spirits are available.

There are stunning views across the rural countryside from the raised terrace area, casual enough to be comfortable and stylish enough to feel special. The surrounding area is a honey pot for hiking, cycling and horse riding, with several the Surrey Cycle Ride link right on the doorstep.
