With the rapid increase in COVID-19 infections and the resulting changes to government guidance, to help keep everyone safe Hampshire Cultural Trust museums and galleries are currently closed and will remain so until further notice. We will re-open as soon as we can and look forward to welcoming you back.
Take a tour through Eastleigh’s past and discover what life was like in the 1930s at Eastleigh museum.
Amongst the museum displays, you’ll be able to visit Mr and Mrs Brown, a local locomotive engine driver and his wife, in their home, see a recreation of the Southern Railway Locomotive Works and a steam engine footplate.
There is always something new to see at the museum, which runs a regularly changing programme of special exhibitions, workshops, talks, events and family friendly activities. You can also visit our café for light refreshments, and why not browse our gift shop, where you’ll find items about Eastleigh and the area, as well as a selection of locally produced craft and food items.
The local studies area has a wide variety of information on the history of the borough drawn from the museum’s collection of local material. You can use the local studies area for private research, school projects or just for general interest. If you are researching something in particular, do call the museum in advance to check that there is a relevant file.
Admission to the museum is free.
