About

Buckland Lake Nature Reserve is a SSSI certified reserve, which has a 1.5 mile circular walk, bird hide and viewing platforms with far reaching views across the lakes. The north side of the walk is partly hard surface so accessible to buggies and wheel chairs. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

Environmental based events throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities for individuals or corporate company’s wishing to ‘put something back’ are all welcome.

Large meeting room with amazing views for hire, suitable for school groups, meetings and family gatherings.

Set on the outskirts of the scenic village of cliffe, Buckland Lake Fishery is the perfect place to ‘get away from it all’ and to enjoy a great days fishing. Whether you prefer trout/fly fishing on the 2.5 acre lake, where you can also hire boats or if you enjoy coarse fishing on our two large mixed coarse lakes, it’s up to you!

With rod hire, light refreshments, toilets and plenty of free parking not to mention the tackle and bait for sale on site it makes a relaxing venue to visit.

Tuition on both the trout and mixed coarse lakes are available, either for 1-2-1 or as a group, suitable for anglers of any age or ability. Group bookings and gift vouchers are also available.

The fishery is open 7 days a week from 8.00 – dusk with the last entry two hours before dusk.

Buckland Lakes 5 star PADI registered dive centre is one of the deepest inland dive centers in the south east, with waters to the depth of 50 feet. The water clarity is very good due to the lakes being in an ex chalk quarry.

Steve and Linda will help you to learn to dive, right from your first splash all the way up to becoming an instructor yourself ‘should you wish to become one!’ There is a great club atmosphere which meets monthly and also has a ‘diving buddy network’.

Children can learn to dive from the age of 8 at weekly pool sessions ‘bubble makers’ and qualify to dive in the lakes at the age of 10.

There is a lot to discover under the water at Buckland Lake, from jet air craft to 19 foot great white sharks! Linda and Steve are always thinking up new ways to keep dives exciting and adventurous for new and regular divers, watch their website to keep up to date with all new ‘discoveries.’ Air tanks can be re filled on site.

There is a small dive equipment shop with both new and second hand kit, but there is no need to buy your own as complete suit hire is available also. Gift vouchers are available all year.
