Batsford Arboretum is home to one of the country’s largest private tree collections. Enjoy early colour from snowdrops, spring-flowering bulbs and Japanese flowering cherries; escape the heat under the tree canopy in summer and prepare to be amazed by the outstanding autumn colour! You’ll find 56 acres of wild gardens, paths and streams, stunning views and beautiful orient-inspired statues. The arboretum is managed by the Batsford Foundation, a charity set up by the 2nd Lord Dulverton in 1983 to promote education, conservation and research into gardens, arboreta and historic landscapes. The visitor centre at Batsford has a fantastic café offering home baked lunches, cakes and afternoon teas, with the chance to soak up the sunshine from the wooden outdoor deck in good weather.

There’s also a quality garden and gift shop and a beautiful plant centre set in the grounds of the old Victorian walled garden. Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre is located just a mile and a half from the historic Cotswold market town of Moreton-in-Marsh – home to a fabulous selection of antique shops, beautiful hotels and great eateries. Dogs (on short leads) are welcome all year round in both the visitor centre and the arboretum. Coach parties are welcome by appointment. Special group rates are available for parties of 20 or more booked in advance; there’s free coach parking and drivers get a meal voucher and free entry to the arboretum. We also offer a meet and greet service whenever possible and can arrange guided tours and special group catering. The Arboretum is planted on a hillside which may make some parts more difficult to reach. Multi-terrain mobility scooters (‘Trampers’) and manual wheelchairs are available to hire. Please note the only charge at Batsford is for entry to the Arboretum itself. Entry to the Visitor Centre – where you’ll find the Garden and Gift Shops, Café and Plant Centre is free.
