October Half Term Family Fun (24th October – 1st Nov) 

Whether you’re looking for some spooky fun or wanting to get creative with the kids, have a look at our suggestions for things to do to keep you and the family entertained throughout October half term. 

Things might be a bit different this year, but so many tourism businesses and destinations across South East England have been working hard to put in place new measures to help keep you safe, you can still enjoy some great family fun.

Halloween at Leonardslee 2020 Saturday 24 October - Sunday 1 November Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens Lower Beeding Nr Horsham

All ghouls and boy are invited to a spooktacular day out filled with joy. For some ghoulish fun, come and spend the day in the sun. Enjoy a spooktacular pumpkin trail and meet animals that go bump in the night!

There's plenty of frightful fun at Drusillas family friendly Halloween! Keep your little horrors happy at half term with light-hearted spooky fun! Get ready to come face-to-face with g-g-ghosts, ghouls, witches and more at their fang-tastic Shriek Week! Keep your eyes peeled for the mummy lurking in Mungo’s Maze and a 2020 surprise! 

Wizard Week Tuesday 27 Oct 2020 - Friday 30 Oct 2020 Isle of Wight Steam Railway

There's Wickedly Wonderful Halloween fun during October half term holiday at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Help the friendly witches of Havenstreet, see the owls and birds of prey and be amazed at the magic shows.

Take the terrifying treasure hunt trail and explore the grounds before boarding the steam train where a witch will be dealing out treats (maybe a few tricks) then settle back for a journey through 'haunted' woodland.

Marvellous Mechanicals Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays Gosport Gallery Hampshire

Discover an exhibition for all ages which features modern automata, or mechanical sculptures, with clever mechanisms and often humorous ideas! 

Come along and marvel at these comical masterpieces which come to life at the push of a button. With hands on opportunities, you can get involved and learn how some of these machines work!

From Saturday 17 October, find out how far your curiosity will take you as you embark on an exhilarating adventure around Winchester Science Centre’s brand new visitor experience! 

Feel your senses come alive as you explore the sights and sounds of an exciting new interactive sound and hearing exhibition, get set for explosive Science LIVE demos taking place right on the exhibition floor and have a go at nature-themed challenges in the inside/outside experimentation zone BIO:SPACE. 

Autumn colour and dragons at Painshill Saturday 24th Oct - Sunday 1st Nov Painshill Surrey

Huge dragons have taken over the landscape at Painshill! Release your inner knight and take on our dragon quest to find each statue. Find all the dragons and you might win a prize!

Discover Autumn Days and Evenings At the Country Park Saturday 17th - Saturday 31st October Robin Hill Isle of Wight

A Spellbinding Halloween Trail  Saturday 17 October - Sunday 1 November Bordehill Surrey

Calling all budding witches and wizards this Halloween Half Term! Put your skills to the test to become a fully-fledged expert in magic. Ballimore the wizard has been practicing his spells, but has unfortunately turned his fellow wizard, Lumos, into a guinea pig!  Can you help Ballimore by completing all the challenges on a story trail around the Garden, discovering the magic word to turn Lumos back into a boy?

Halloween Half Term Fun Saturday 24th October - Sunday 1st November Beale Wildlife Park Near Pangbourne, Visit Thames

Free entry for any child fully dressed up for Halloween (if accompanied by a full paying adult).There will be a Halloween trail, make and take activities and the Park will be dressed for the spooky season.
