Summer may be drawing to an end, however there is no rest for group organisers and itinerary planners already planning 2023 and beyond.

As Tourism South East we fly the flag for South East England and all the fantastic solutions for day out and short breaks for groups of all sizes. Below we highlight some more exciting options to explore. Whether your group has a special interest in industrial heritage or architecture, enjoys a horticultural day out or has a keen interest in English History, the region is certainly crammed full of group friendly things to do.

Dare we mention, Christmas is now just 16 weeks away! If you haven’t yet secured arrangements for festive season, you can discover some spectacular illumination trail or festive banquets below too!

Group Friendly Days Out in South East England

Whitchurch Silk Mill

On the banks of the River Test, in the heart of rural Hampshire, Whitchurch Silk Mill is a magnificent Grade Two* listed building. Today it is the oldest silk mill in the UK still working in its original building. We weave luxurious silk scarves and silk for a range of unique gifts and customers in interior design, heritage conservation, and fashion on our Victorian looms. Groups can enjoy a guided tour and discover how we make the delicate thread into fabulous cloth. Highlights include the Victorian winding and warping machinery, the waterwheel, the historic weaving shed filled with looms and explore the beautiful gardens on the banks of the River Test.

Enjoy a fantastic day out for groups in Greenwich

Known as the UK’s own Sistine Chapel, the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, in the heart of Maritime Greenwich, is the perfect place for group visits.
