Summer of Sound

Summer of Sound at Wakehurst

Pause. Breathe. Listen.
Do you hear the steady drum of the woodpecker? Or the whispers of the forest?

This summer, Wakehurst, Kew's wild botanic garden in Sussex, will be brought alive by a symphony of sounds. Six striking large-scale installations situated across the landscape will delicately and playfully inspire a greater connection to nature. Find a new dimension to the term 'surround sound' as the natural noises of the wild gardens are amplified and explored by award-winning sound artists, including Ivor Novello prize winner Kathy Hinde.

For those after an evening of immersive, sonic experiences, don't miss Summer of Sounds: After Hours. Running 12 – 15 August, enjoy a vibrant evening of live music, spoken word, open-air cooking and botanical cocktails as twilight spreads over the landscape.

Summer of Sound runs 9 July – 12 September.
Just 10 minutes from Haywards Heath.
