Southampton Christmas Market

Above Bar, Southampton, Hampshire, SO14 7FE
Southampton Christmas Market

The Southampton Christmas Market features a traditional German market operated by internationally renowned WELA Märkte featuring totally unique, individually designed alpine chalets with traditional German fayre, from bratwurst and waffles to gingerbread hearts and candied fruit.

In its 5th year the Southampton Christmas Festival is a major part of Southampton`s Christmas events which also features daily entertainment from local musicians and schoolchildren. In addition to the market and the musical entertainment there is the amazing Flying Santa show, taking place twice a day above the Christmas Festival. This amazing show has become a firm favourite with families and is literally a real highlight for the watching children who are presented with a small gift at the Christmas Calendar in front of the Bargate at the end of Santa`s flight across the market.

The market includes over 40 independent stallholders offering a range of hand-made, authentic gifts including wooden toys, baskets, soaps, lamps, jewellery as well as Christmas decorations.

This free festival also boasts daily entertainment and takes place on Above Bar pedestrian precinct outside West Quay Shopping Centre.

Flying Santa: One of the highlights of the festival is a ‘Flying Santa’ who will take to the sky over the city centre each day. See Santa and his reindeer fly high above the market at a height of 35m. At the end of each show Santa comes down from his sleigh and hands out free presents to every child. Monday - Saturday 5pm and 7pm and Sundays 4pm and 6pm.

Please use Southampton's public carparks or public transport.
