CELEBRATE NATIONAL BISCUIT DAY AT MILTON'S COTTAGE
29 May 2023, 11am – 1pm
Free drop-in workshop
Join us for morning coffee on National Biscuit Day - and create your own biscuit-based artwork in this free workshop led by the celebrated biscuit artist and historian, Ella Hawkins.
As part of our multi-sensory season of events, reflecting the fact that Milton was blind when he lived here, Ella has created a biscuit set inspired by Milton's Cottage – the place where Milton completed his epic masterpiece Paradise Lost.
Each biscuit depicts a rare book or artefact from our collection. They are infused with rose, a common flavouring in Milton's lifetime - and the plant most mentioned in Paradise Lost after the Forbidden Tree of Knowledge.
