After a successful concert in 2019 we're delighted to welcome back Moonrakers, an Oxford-based group of four musicians who pride themselves in having brought traditional and contemporary folk music to new audiences in village halls, churches, arts centres and festivals across the south of England. Featuring Celtic harp, cello, stringed instruments and male/female vocals, the show is informal and suitable for all ages. The fact that the band "just OOZES quality" (Living Tradition) is down to the careful arrangements and selection of tunes and songs, presenting "exquisite music" (BBC). Much of their material is from the UK and Irish folk traditions, reflecting a love of traditional tunes and songs. They also perform their own songs and tunes, still very much 'in the idiom'. To see and hear them go to www.moonrakers.net . Further information from 01865 769206. In the event of inclement weather and to keep everyone warm and dry the Concert will go ahead as planned but will be moved from the amphitheatre to an indoor location at Waterperry Gardens!
